Damn you Costco!

July 20th, 2008, 10:11 pm PDT by Greg

Costco has always been my connection for garden burgers. They sold sleeves of about 25 of them, and there was always one in my freezer. There have been many times they kept me alive, particularly in the two lost years while Kat was in NC.

In my last three visits to three different Costcos, they haven’t had any. From this, I conclude that Costco has stopped selling garden burgers.

This is not acceptable, and could be a dealbreaker on my (already facultative) vegetarianism. Does anybody know where I can get a big box o’ veggie burgers, thus avoiding colon cancer and morbid obesity?

My life is in your hands. Please help.

I like how they’re referred to as the “lost years”. However, I feel as though it will take me another two years to retrain Greg. For example, I had to point out that carrots and peas are not an adequate dinner. What was the point of living together before we got married if I just have to retrain him all over again? Maybe I’ll get more baked goods this time around. However, given that he’s face-down on the couch, asleep, I highly doubt it.

I do have to say that he was quite sad when we could not find his veggie burgers. I did point out that we could just buy multiple smaller boxes, but apparently that’s not an option.

If you’re not going go big when you go to Costco, what’s the point?

Wow, they must put crack in the Canadian garden burgers. I never thought they were THAT good.

Kat, I was going to say the same thing! “The lost years”, heh!

Regarding the baked goods, I have three words for you: sourdough bread course. Greg already likes to tinker in the kitchen — don’t you think he’ll get hooked and start baking bread on his sabbatical? Eastwood just perfected another pizza dough recipe, and I think it’s the best one yet. Best $50 I ever spent, I say!

    P.S. We miss you!!!

I was gonna say… what is wrong with buying small? I mean, you could go to a grocery store and buy it too, couldn’t you?

BTW: Peterborough is getting a Costco. This is only going to serve to feed my habit of stock piling (and thus annoying my roommate further. Ha!).

The veggie burgers we got for OMGWTFBBQ were from Costco. We went to the one near Brentwood, maybe you’ll have some luck there.
