It turns out that at the Alamo rental car, a guy with some wireless dohickey comes up to your car and checks you out right there.  There was a shuttle waiting to leave, so the whole thing took about 60 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Check-in and security were empty, so I sailed through there.<\/p>\n<p>And, my flight was delayed about a half hour, so I&#8217;m here with almost 3 hours to kill.  I might have to pay the $8 for wi-fi.<\/p>\n<p>As an aside, the TSA people were almost&#8230; well&#8230; friendly.  I know it&#8217;s contrary to everything I have read on the Internet.  After the woman asked me to take my shoes off, she smirked and said &#8220;when they lower that threat level, you can keep your shoes on.&#8221;  I told her that the floor was colder last time, so it was okay.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I&#8217;m paying for the wi-fi&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m heading back to Vancouver today, flying from Raleigh-Durham, through Toronto to Vancouver.
